Number 7 Mount Vernon was the home of Robert Louis Stevenson and his home now bears a Hampstead Society black plaque. Stevenson was a Scottish novelist, poet, essayist, and travel writer. The house standing on the corner is where the first Hampstead Watch had its headquarters - marked by another Hampstead Society plaque.
Number 10 Holly Berry Lane was the home of the celebrated British composer Sir William Walton OM. During a sixty-year career, he wrote music in several classical styles, from film scores to opera.
