T. E. Lawrence, popularly known as ’Lawrence of Arabia’, lived at number 14. Before the first World War he was a British archaeologist, who then went on to became a military officer, diplomat, and writer. He was renowned for his liaison role during the Sinai and Palestine Campaign and the Arab Revolt against the Ottoman Empire. His ability to describe the excitement and passions of his wartime actions vividly in writing, earned him international fame as Lawrence of Arabia—a title used for the 1962 film based on his wartime activities. ///those.donor.cloak
